B is for...Bad Behavior

Some of you might find this one a bit funny. SO, I'm on this sleep medicine...(more like a drug, let's call it what it is). Now, as a preface to this story, my mom has been taking sleep drugs for some time now, and she has been on the more potent Ambien while I have been taking the Lunesta. Well, the jokes have always been about the crazy things people (and yes, my mom) have done while taking Ambien. When I was prescribed the Lunesta, I thought oh there's no way I'll be like my mom or anything like that....
Here are a couple of ways that I have behaved badly under the influence.
1. First noticed that walking around on Lunesta is a challenge. Fell on the floor.
2. Lunesta effects can come on very suddenly, so if I'm in conversation, I repeat things and start slurring. I also answer imaginary questions.
3. After having conversations, I was unable to remember parts.
4. Fell asleep fully clothed and with lights on. Twice.
5. and this is where it starts to get fun...downloaded/purchased 8 ringtones for my iPhone to assign to certain people in my phone. Did not recall doing this until 24 hours later. The damage was over 10$.
6. Downloaded some free apps. Discovered this two nights later.
7. Last night, I downloaded two game apps for the iPhone. Damage 5$.

My bad behavior alludes to the fact that I have become less skilled at remembering what goes on during intoxication in the days that follow, as well as spending money on the iPhone that I would probably not have an easy time of spending if I were not drugged. Lesson being- sleeping drugs, trippy also, keep iPhone out of reach.

Might like to know also....this was written under the influence of Lunesta. typos=void.

A is for....Almost Accident

My first post, starting with the letter A, is about an Almost Accident that I witnessed/was 2 seconds away from being a part of...or many parts of, depending on how you look at it. I was driving down to see my boyfriend on Friday, and we'd had an unusual amount of snow here. By the mid-afternoon, most of the snow on roads had melted, but it left the roads very, very wet, almost worse than a steady rain. Just south of downtown, a guy races up behind me doing probably 80...I'm doing 60, as is the car next to me, side-by-side. This maniac pulls in between us and I'm not sure if he was thinking he could actually get between us in between the lanes but he sure tried! A few seconds later, I see him pull all the way to the open right lane and I thought to myself "Well, at least he can get out of here now." Not a handful of seconds later, I see the same vehicle slide across sideways all three lanes of traffic, right in front of me, hit the snow embankment and the guardrail right next to me and drop debris on his way. Calm panic and a few anti-lock brake activations later, I'm in the clear...but it brought to mind what my dad always said..."Drive like hell and you'll get there faster."

The World According to ABC

I've been trying to figure out what to blog about for ages...so I finally had a brilliant idea. Well, you may not think it's brilliant. But I do. I will let the ABC's guide me. Each time I blog, I will use the next letter of the alphabet to guide my blogging topic for the day. Once I get thru the alphabet, I will start over! This will give us a chance to explore many topics while still being guided by somewhat of a structure (I'm a structure junkie). I hope you'll enjoy reading along and maybe you will find something that interests you! Thanks for stopping by!
