C is for Cordova

Well friends, it's been awhile since the blog has been updated, but I get to add a couple of fun letters! The first one is C, which is for my NEW last name, Cordova!!! Yes, that's right, on February 23rd, 2010 I was asked by my dear boyfriend-now-fiance if I would marry him. The proposal went a little something like this...
February 23rd was our one year dating anniversary. Johnson was skipping school to be able to come see me to celebrate. Of course, like most girls, my mind had wandered to the possibility of a proposal, but he was so nonchalant about it when I brought it up (and I can usually read him pretty well) that I had convinced myself that it wasn't happening (c is for...cliche?) We had a wonderful dinner at the Melting Pot and were headed home for some "chill time" (also a C...yay!)
After I was completely convinced that nothing was happening, at least not that night, we drove around the corner to the street where my house is and all looked normal, except for some dancing lights that I noticed when we got closer to a gazebo across the street from my house. I realized that they were candles, lining the path up to the gazebo. I sat frozen in my seat and meanwhile Johnson had gotten out of the car and come around to get me. We started walking along the stones leading up to the gazebo and there were rose petals everywhere amongst the candles.
Once at the gazebo, there was a set up of more rose petals, candles and 10 Bible verses that he had selected to read to me and that signified our purpose together. I started crying as soon as he started explaining them to me, and we made our way around the inside of the gazebo to a set up of more flowers, an antique lantern, a devotional and a ring box. I read the devotion from that day and then he got down on one knee. He opened up the ring box and *gasp* no ring! It was one of my friend's ideas, they thought it would be comical :) He had it in his pocket and he popped the question! I said yes, OF COURSE, but not before admiring the beautiful ring! We then proceeded to my house where about 40 friends and family were waiting for a surprise engagement party! Since then, wedding planning has commenced and it's pretty fun...and stressful too...but see the next entry for more!
